Justice Theresa Striggner Scott is a distinguished legal practitioner and diplomat. She was called to the bar in Middle Temple, United Kingdom, has served as Judge of the High Court of Ghana and was the first woman appointed to the High Court of Zimbabwe.
She was also the Executive Chairperson of the Ghana Law Reform Commission from January 2000 to February 2004 and a member of the Standing Commission of Inquiry Regarding Public Violence and Intimidation in South Africa ("the Goldstone Commission").
Justice Striggner Scott has held various diplomatic titles including Ambassador of Ghana to France (with accreditations to Spain, Portugal, Greece, and the Holy See, as well as UNESCO) and to Italy (with accreditations to Turkey, Croatia, Slovenia and Greece as well as the FAO, WFP and IFAD).
She has served as a member of UNESCO's Legal Commission and was an elected member of the organization's Executive Board. She was also a member of the Conventions and Recommendations Committee, the Executive Board's human rights body, and Chair of the Committee at the Executive Board's 140th session.
